Microsoft 365 Migration Toronto
Microsoft 365 migration for Toronto businesses. Data move, security configuration, and user training from Group 4 Networks. Call (416) 623-9677.
A Microsoft 365 migration in Toronto usually starts with mail, files, and identities that have been added to for years. Shared mailboxes still sit on an old server. Permissions were copied forward when people changed roles. A sharing link from a project three years ago is still open. The cutover weekend is a bad time to discover that. Group 4 Networks, at 18 King Street East, Suite 1400, writes down what moves, what is archived, and what is retired before any mailbox is switched.
Mail flow is the part that breaks in public. We check SPF, DKIM, and DMARC on the current domain, then send a small group through Exchange Online first. That group has to send to a customer and receive a reply without a workaround. Only then do we move the rest. Distribution lists, shared mailboxes, and aliases are listed so a name people already use does not disappear on Monday morning.
Files are the slower half. A file server full of nested folders does not become a tidy SharePoint site by itself. We pick the libraries people still open, leave the archive on cheaper storage, and turn off sharing links that include anyone with the link. OneDrive is for a person's working files. SharePoint is for the files a team owns. Mixing those two is how a folder ends up visible to the whole company.
Identity work happens in the same window. Accounts that belong to people who left are disabled, not deleted, until mail and files have a new owner. Multi factor authentication is turned on for admins first, then for everyone else, with a week of help desk time so people are not locked out of a client meeting. Conditional access rules stay simple: block legacy sign in, and ask for a second factor off the office network.
What does a typical move include? Mailbox migration, file migration for the libraries you still use, a mail authentication check, and a rollback note if the pilot group cannot send. What stays on you? Telling us which shared mailboxes are live, and naming an owner for each team site. How long does the pilot last? Long enough for that group to work a normal day, which is often a few days, not a single evening. Call (416) 623-9677 if you want the list of what we would touch first.
After the move, the work is license cleanup and backup. Seats nobody has signed into for a quarter come off the bill. A documented restore is tested on one mailbox and one library, because a migration that cannot be undone is not finished. We do not promise a silent weekend for every tenant. We do promise you will know the cutover window, the pilot group, and who to call if mail stops.
