Business IT consulting is the planning work: what to keep, what to replace, what to spend next quarter, and which vendor is actually doing the job you pay them for. It is not the help desk. Group 4 Networks does both, and we keep them separate so a strategy meeting is not billed as a password reset. The office is 18 King Street East, Suite 1400.
Firms ask for this when the tools have piled up. Three backup products, a phone system nobody can administer, Microsoft 365 half adopted, and a contract that renews next month. We read the contracts and the admin portals. We say what is in use, what is duplicate, and what will hurt if you cancel it. Recommendations name a system you already have when that system is enough.
A roadmap is a sequence, not a slogan. First month might be admin access and backups, because nothing else is safe until those are true. Next might be the mail migration or the firewall replacement, with a window your operations lead agrees to. We do not hand you a five year poster. We hand you the next two or three moves and the reason for the order.
You can buy consulting without buying the help desk. Some firms want a second opinion before they renew a national provider. We will give that opinion and we will also say if we are a bad fit for the ongoing work. If you do want us to run the systems afterward, the managed plan is a different conversation, with its own scope. Mixing them in one vague retainer is how both sides get annoyed.
What we need from you is someone who can say yes to a change, and an honest list of what hurt last year. What you get is notes you can reuse: the vendor list, the renewal dates, the risks. Call (416) 623-9677. Group 4 Networks has consulted for GTA businesses since 2008. We will not invent a savings percentage. If we see unused licenses, we will count those seats and you can do the math.
Meetings stay short. An hour to confirm scope, then the looking, then a readout with decisions at the top. If you want a workshop for twenty people, say so and we will plan it. Most Toronto firms want the readout and a list. That is the default.
If a renewal is inside 30 days, say so on the first call. The readout gets shorter and the vendor list comes first, because a recommendation that arrives after the contract has already renewed is only a complaint. We would rather you have the list while you can still act on it.
