Remote and hybrid work has permanently changed the cybersecurity perimeter for Toronto businesses. - Secure remote access (VPN or ZTNA): Employees accessing internal systems from outside the office need encrypted, authenticated connections. Zero-trust network access (ZTNA) is increasingly replacing legacy VPN for better security and performance.
- Microsoft 365 security configuration: Conditional Access policies, session controls, and data loss prevention (DLP) in Microsoft 365 enforce security rules regardless of where employees are working.
- Security awareness training: Remote employees are primary targets for phishing. Regular training and simulated phishing exercises measurably reduce susceptibility.
